The Environmental and Occupational Hygiene laboratory at Evander, provide services to all mines and related industry:

• the testing and analysis of respirable airborne particulates, gas and water samples for occupational hygiene purposes and engineering control measures
• gas analysis for the prevention of gas explosions in underground coal mines and other enclosed atmospheres and assistance during mine fires and emergencies
• fall-out dust analysis for environmental control purposes
• stone dust analysis for the prevention of fires and explosions in coal mines.
